Back To School Organizing

School is now back in session for most schools in Maryland. As Mom’s rejoice over the extra time they will have for housekeeping and organization, there are a few things that can help your kids to stay neat and organized. When we present children of all ages with organizers and “homes” for all of their things, it is shown that they are move likely to keep neat, tidy, and know where their shoes and book bag are when you are trying to hurry out the door. Try these Back to School organizing tips around the home and let us know how they work!

Create a Homework Caddy

Whether your Children start their homework as soon as they walk in the door or if they do it after dinner, consider building a homework caddy to help motivate them to keep their supplies all in one place, organized, and easy to find and put away. Caddies or organization boxes can be found in the office supply section, cleaning, section, and even the bathroom section of your local big box store. You can be as creative as you want, using mason jars or rationalization are ways to make your caddy more fun. Include pencils, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, scissors, and anything else your student might need to complete their homework each day.

Kid Calendar

Some children lead busier lives than most adults, between school, sports, and extra curricular activities there could be days where they need to bounce from one thing to another. Knowing their daily to-do can be a great tool for keeping them on top of their busy lives and less stressed out as a result. No matter which kind of calendar you might choose, a traditional one, a wipe board, or an  electronic one, consider that your children having their own calendars can help the entire family stay organized and neat.

Back Pack Hooks

Backpacks notoriously make their way all over the house and are usually found on the floor and anywhere but where they need to be when your kids are searching for them. This is why we love the idea of a backpack hook. If you have multiple children, this is one genius way to keep them organized. You can also personalize each hook to the child to make it fun and a part of your home’s decor.

Organization can be a huge help in keeping your home clean and tidy. When little ones have per-determined places for their things, they are much more likely to put things back where they belong. Now that school has started, why not have a professional deep cleaning to start the year off right?  You can count on us to to do the hard work around the home so you won’t have to, and can focus on helping with homework.
